Boot lid droop

Boot droop is a common problem that affects the XJS when fitted with a TWR style rear spoiler.

The torsion bars are just not up to the job after 10 years or more of holding the already heavy boot lid open.

The solution is however quite easy. Fit Gas struts instead.

We are soon to manufacture and sell a complete kit that can be fitted in less that an hour to your car with the minimum of tools. Each kit will contain everything you’ll need apart from some basic tools (drill, spanner, Screwdriver)

The kit works by installing a bracket under the hinge mounts and another on the rear reinforcement panel and then locates the strut. into position.

Purchase two kits and you can cut the torsion bars off completely. we are working on an electronic boot opener as well which will allow the boot to be opened at the push of a button. The supplied struts have a braking system fitted which slows its rise for the last few centimetres.
